Non-destructive and destructive testing laboratory of JSC "CDBMB" was accredited by ILAC MRA
JSC "CDBMB" (belongs to the Machine Building Division of Rosatom – JSC Atomenergomash) has successfully finalized the accreditation of Non-destructive and destructive testing laboratory and is ready to continue to work in the framework of international projects on NPP construction.
A key demand from foreign partners concerning Hanhikivi-1 NPP project (Finland) and Akkuyu NPP project (Turkey) is accreditation of laboratory by the national accreditation body recognized by the International Organization for laboratory accreditation (ILAC MRA). The implementation of this demand was made possible by the Contract between the Federal Service For Accreditation (RusAccreditation) and ILAC MRA signed in 2017 to reduce costs of the Companies operating at foreign markets along with foreign recognition of results of tests performed in Russia.
"Accreditation is a long process taking at least three years. First of all, it is necessary to prepare a set of documents and to pass documentary and offsite examinations (stage-by-stage) with expert groups. Then, using reports of expert groups, the Federal Service For Accreditation (RusAccreditation) adopts either positive decision or negative one" said Kozlov Yuriy, Quality Director of JSC "CDBMB". The next challenge is to be approved by the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority in Finland (STUK) for further cooperation. "
Non-destructive and destructive testing laboratory is a key subdivision of JSC "CDBMB" and performs tests for determination and examination of the physical and mechanical properties of materials, radiographic test, liquid penetrant test and ultrasonic test of assembly units and materials, leak tests along with chemical and spectral analysis of materials used in the manufacturing of the products. The laboratory with a constantly modernizing machinery, premises and competent staff working in accord with established procedures and Customers' requirements, confirmed its status with full rights when undergoing accreditation.
